For Kicks, Episode 35: A farewell to John Herdman, CONCACAF Women’s U20 Championship

A very (if not slightly belated) Happy New Year, woso fans! It was nice to have a little time off from podcasting over the holidays but our return couldn’t have been timed better because something we really didn’t expect to happen happened last week: John Herdman announced he would be leaving the Canadian women’s soccer team to coach the Canadian men’s team.

So tune in and listen to what is basically a therapy session where we talk through our feelings on this big announcement. In this episode, we:

  • Try real hard to be diplomatic as we dish on the facts and our feelings about John Herdman’s departure from CANWNT
  • Share info about the upcoming Algarve Cup
  • Talk about the CONCACAF U20 Championship tournament that’s about to get underway
  • Share some of our hopes and dreams for this year’s NWSL draft
  • Get the conversation started about some recent NWSL news and trades

There was more to cover than we expected, but then again, there always is. We’ll get into NWSL talk a little deeper in one of our next couple of episodes.

For Kicks Podcast, Episode 21: CANWNT Camp, NWSL Allocations, Canada Soccer jersey giveaway

Well, well, well…looks like there was just too much news between our last episode and our next episode (after the Canadian friendly against Mexico), so we decided that another episode was necessary. We apologize about the sound quality; we had some technical difficulties and had to record this episode twice!

On this episode we talk about:

For Kicks Podcast, Episode 1

It is with massive enthusiasm that Jessica and Katie welcome you to the first episode of For Kicks Podcast, where we’ll be following the Canadian Women’s National soccer team on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Who are we?
We’re just a couple of old friends and huge woso nerds. After an exciting summer living in a host city for the Women’s World Cup, we needed a bigger platform from which to gush. Just how much do we love our team? This video contains footage of Jess having a breakdown after we lose to England in the WWC.
What’s up with this podcast?
We’ll be recording podcasts related to all the major events that lead the CANWNT to the Rio 2016 Olympics. We hope that means there will be a lot of podcasts between now and next July!
So what’s inside?
In our first episode, we talk about who we are and why we wanted to start this podcast. We also discuss the upcoming International Tournament of Natal and the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship, where the CANWNT will be competing.
We hope you enjoy our latest podcast and connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr! You can also check us out on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, and SoundCloud, and find to our previous podcasts here!
