ICYMI: For Kicks does The Mixxed Zone

This week, we were invited to join the incredible Jen Cooper on her podcast, The Mixxed Zone, to talk—what else—women’s soccer. Jen is one of our podcast heroes and a true champion of the women’s game, so we had a blast talking to her.

We chatted with Jen about:

A big thanks to Jen for having us on the show. Be sure to listen to The Mixxed Zone and follow her on Twitter!

For Kicks Podcast, Episode 24: CANWNT vs Sweden & Germany, NWSL’s opening weekend

Ask and you shall receive! In the past week, not only did Canada play two top tier teams in international friendlies, but Canada Soccer gave fans access to live feeds of the games. To stick with the metaphor—it was a miracle.

ORRRR, Canada Soccer has been listening to the outcry from fans. Either way, we’re thrilled Canada continued to be challenged by the best teams in the world and we got to watch it.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • Canada vs Sweden (April 6 international friendly)
  • Canada vs Germany (April 9 international friendly)
  • UWCL updates
  • NWSL season kickoff games, including our (likely wildly inaccurate) score predictions

For Kicks Podcast, Episode 16: The NWSL Championship and an interview with Shelina Zadorsky

Another NWSL season came to a close this weekend as the Washington Spirit and Western New York Flash toughed it out for the title of 2016 NWSL Champion. There’s a lot to talk about so this episode is devoted to the epic NWSL semi-finals and final.

We also feature an interview with Canadian Olympics bronze medalist and Washington Spirit defender Shelina Zadorsky, who was an absolute joy to talk to. Shelina proved herself to be an anchor for the Spirit’s back line this season and was recognized for her contribution by being named the Spirit’s Newcomer of the Year. She’s made 22 appearances with the Canadian National team since her debut in January 2013 and was an integral part of Canada’s bronze medal win at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Check Shelina out on Twitter and Instagram!
